Easy Diet Tips For Great Skin

When it comes to great skin, you need to take care of it with proper cleansing, quality anti-aging Girl with grapefruitingredients, and of course, daily sun protection. But more evidence is emerging about the effects our diet may have on our skin’s appearance. Whether your concern is acne breakouts, aging, or just keeping a healthy glow, you don’t have the follow a fancy diet to feed your skin what it needs.

Just follow these simple guidelines every day for a youthful, radiant complexion.

  • Drink plenty of water. Your body and your skin need water to function normally. Water helps flush out waste products and keeps your skin hydrated. Dehydrated skin tends to look less plump and supple, and a dehydrated body tends to feel sluggish and tired. Aim for eight glasses a day, and more if you exercise.
  • Get your omega-3’s. These fatty acids are found in fish such as salmon, and they help keep skin supple. They can also be found in flaxseeds and walnuts, but the plant form is not as readily absorbed. NOTE: If you are pregnant or nursing, you may need to limit your intake of fish. Talk with your obstetrician about your recommended amount.
  • Get enough of the right kind of fats. Besides omega-3’s, other unsaturated fats are great for the complexion. These include olive oil, safflower oil, and nuts. Without enough fat in your diet, your body can’t absorb certain nutrients, which can affect the health of your skin. These fats also strengthen cell membranes throughout your body.
  • Get antioxidants from fruits and vegetables. These nutrients found in whole plant foods are important to your overall health. They block free radicals, which contribute to aging, and may help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and brown spots.
  • Limit sugar intake. A high-sugar diet may contribute to acne breakouts and aging of skin, due to spikes in blood sugar levels. In addition, high sugar foods typically do not offer you the vitamins and nutrients your skin needs to stay healthy.
  • Eat lean and healthy proteins to help build collagen. Healthy protein from fish, poultry, nuts, beans, and seeds can help your skin build new collagen, giving it a younger, plumper appearance. Red meat is also a good source of zinc and protein, but should be eaten less frequently than other proteins.

Eating a healthy diet is a great way to keep your body and skin in top shape. But, some signs of aging are inevitable as the years go by. If you are experiencing issues with your skin, there are facial rejuvenation options available to solve your skin issues and give you back your confidence. From dermal fillers and injectables, to microneedling and fat transfer procedures, we can help you find a solution to give you smooth, sleek skin and a youthful appearance.
