Dermasweep: More Than Microdermabrasion
You are interested in healthier, glowing skin. You're reading the reviews online and doing your homework. You don't want to invest in skin rejuvenation treatments that aren't right for you. At this point, you've heard of traditional microdermabrasion but at GLOW Surgical Arts, we're excited to offer an advanced microdermabrasion treatment called Dermasweep, now available to our patients in Redwood City.
What is Dermasweep?
At GLOW Surgical Arts we use Dermasweep’s multi-attachment micro-resurfacing bristle system to effectively exfoliate your skin. Then we apply the perfect Dermasweep’s skin-specific infusions to accelerate your results. Not sure which infusion is right for you? The staff at GLOW Surgical Arts is highly trained on Dermasweep use and will determine the best infusion for your skin type.
What does Dermasweep treat?
Skin issues that Dermasweep treats include:
- Sun-damaged skin
- Melasma
- Dull skin
- Aging skin (reduction of fine lines and wrinkles)
- Hyper-pigmentation
- Acne
- Shrinking enlarged pores
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Surgical scars
- Improving overall skin health
- Reducing early aging lines (brow lines, crow's feet, and smile lines)
Who can receive a Dermasweep treatment?
In contrast to traditional microdermabrasion, Dermasweep can be adjusted for a wider variety of skin types and treat more areas of the body. Almost everyone can receive treatment, however if you suffer from eczema, dermatitis, skin cancers, keloid scars, viral lesions, herpes simplex (active), vascular lesions, you may not be a good candidate. The professionals at GLOW Surgical Arts will evaluate your needs and help you determine if Dermasweep is right for you. The procedure also is not recommended if you are pregnant, currently taking oral blood thinners, or have a compromised immune system. If you have used Accutane in the past 6-24 months, Dermasweep should be postponed until the appropriate time has passed.
Will the treatment be painful?
Not typically. Because Dermasweep is non-invasive patients typically experience only slight discomfort. Side effects associated with Dermasweep are a mild tightness of the skin following the and a pink glow that lasts for roughly 30 minutes.
How long does the treatment take?
Dermasweep is typically a 30-minute procedure. Each person's skin is different, but GLOW Surgical usually can complete a course of Dermasweep treatment in three to six appointments with a 10-14 day gap between visits for maximum results. That's 1 1/2 to three hours of total chair time, as compared to 10 hour-long sessions to complete a similar course of treatment with traditional microdermabrasion.
How often do you need treatments?
Many patients opt to have Dermasweep treatments once per month as a way to maintain their youthful, vibrant appearance.
How soon will I see results?
Dermasweep produces smoother, younger-looking skin immediately.
What kind of recovery time can I expect?
There is no recovery time. GLOW Surgical Arts recommends you use a sunscreen and moisturizer daily and certainly after this treatment.
