Microneedling isn't the newest trend in crocheting or needlepoint. Instead, microneedling is quickly becoming one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. This is a cosmetic procedure designed to help rejuvenate skin for a younger fresher appearance. Likewise, Cosmopen isn't a new brand of ballpoint. It's a state-of-the-art microneedling tool. GLOW Surgical Arts sees people just like you every day who are curious about this innovative product and procedure. That's why we've gathered up a list of facts for you about our microneedling in Redwood City with the Cosmopen.
Why choose microneedling?
We live in a world where there are thousands of beauty products that people just like you use to improve their appearance by reducing skin imperfections. In fact, the Huffington Post published an article in 2017 stating that the average woman in the U.S. spends roughly $8 a day on skin care. That equals out to approximately $2,300 a year!. In our experience, those products may produce effects that are so temporary or minuscule that they weren't worth the price—if they even work at all.
Microneedling is a better choice because the results last longer. Also known as collagen induction therapy or CIT, microneedling in Redwood City passes many small needles over the skin, creating microscopic injuries that stimulate the body's natural repair processes and encourage the production of collagen and elastin—two proteins that are vital to keeping skin looking young and vibrant.
What does Microneedling do?
Our Redwood City cosmetic surgeons at GLOW Surgical Arts will use the Cosmopen to quickly change a variety of skin issues that may be aging you. We can help you reduce the effects of aging by using microneedling to address any of the following issues:
How does microneedling with Cosmopen work?
Did you know that, on average, your skin absorbs just 3 percent of any topical product you apply? Microneedling with CosmoPen allows these topical products to be absorbed at much higher and more productive rates.
Where on my body can I have treated?
Well, simply put, anywhere. If you're concerned about scarring or aging on the face we can perform microneedling there. Microneedling with a Cosmopen can be used to address a wide range of problems—from balding on your head to stretch marks on your stomach. You have skin everywhere and your issues don't limit themselves to areas that are traditionally convenient for treatment.
Does Microneedling with the Cosmopen hurt?
When your topical products are applied, we traditionally would also apply a topical anesthetic. With the help of our local anesthetic and trained staff, most patients agree that microneedling is pain-free.
How much recovery time can I expect?
Cosmopen’s microneedling procedure doesn't have much of a downtime associated with it. Ou patients at GLOW Surgical Arts often resume their normal routines within 24 hours. We also recommend waiting at least 24 hours before using makeup. We also would like to note that there may be some redness associated with the treatment but this will subside gradually over the course of approximately two days.
When will I see results and how long will they last?
Results vary from person to person. This is why we like to have a consultation prior to any microneedling procedure. This meeting will help determine how many treatments are needed or how much skin on your body will need to be treated. Severe skin issues may require as many as six treatments, while more minor issues can be resolved in as little as one session. Follow-up treatment should be scheduled at least two weeks apart. With how easy the treatments are, it is a shock for most patients that they will reap benefits from microneedling for up to a year.
