More Women Are Now Considering Plastic Surgery

Written by GLOW Surgical Arts | March 31, 2015

A new study commissioned by RealSelf reveals that 21 percent of women are considering cosmetic surgery and are planning for procedures either now or in the future. An online community devoted to cosmetic procedures used an outside market research firm to survey 5,035 American women between the ages of 18 and 64. The trend shows that more women are now seeking the help of cosmetic physicians.

One of the findings showed that most of the participants who stated they were considering cosmetic surgery were between the ages of 18 and 24. A staggering 90 percent of this age group reported to the survey that they were unhappy with at least one of their body parts.

While not loving your love handles isn’t a new concept, the study shows a change in attitude toward cosmetic surgery. Women could be considering cosmetic procedures more because of advancements in technology and the introduction of non-surgical procedures, which are less invasive and cheaper.
