Tummy Tuck Surgery: When Should You Talk To A Cosmetic Surgeon?
The following is an excerpt from our new e-book, A patient’s guide to tummy tuck surgery.
When should you talk to a cosmetic surgeon?
If you’re thinking about getting a tummy tuck, schedule a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon. You should expect a free, no-pressure conversation to weigh the pros and cons of this surgery. Just having a consultation does not bind you to having the surgery, and you shouldn’t feel that you have to make a decision right away.
At your consultation, you will also explore your reasons for wanting the procedure and what a realistic outcome might be for you. The surgeon should be willing and able to answer any of your questions and concerns, including cost. Ask the surgeon to see before and after photos of previous surgeries in order to gain an idea of the surgeon’s success with the procedure. You might want to take notes so you can go back and review what was discussed later. Don’t be afraid to ask questions; a good surgeon will be happy to answer them and address your concerns so you can make your decision with complete confidence.
